For the rebels and hackers of you out there, the iPhone Dev team have released the jailbreak for the iPhone 3G.
The jailbreak is currently a multipart release and only currently available to Mac OS X users via PwnageTool, with QuickPwn on the way for the Mac and Windows shortly.
You can find full instructions here (make sure you read them thoroughly.
You should know if you are using a 3G iPhone with yellowsn0w then you should not use PwnageTool right now, also – you lucky new iPhone 3G S owners – the jailbreak will NOT work with your handset just yet.

Maybe this recent ruling of the ECJ (European Court of Justice) is material for a new article:

This is in fact really bad news – it basically means that begliums law which prohibits apple from selling locked iPhones is AGAINST EU LAW. So Apple might soon sell locked phones in belgium again and this might also have implications for italian unlocked iPhones.
Apple just started selling them totally unlocked via their online store in italy – so this nice new development might find a quick end soon :-(
Really had high hopes that we’d do better in the EU, compared to “corporate america” (“we are free americans, but we cant do that – some company told us so”)
Dammit. We should immediately start to get in touch with our national reps/members in the European Council and tell them that this EU directive is counterproductive and counter innovative.
