Yahoo have just announced a number of new features to Flickr with particular focus on their video sharing tools.
- Firstly, anyone can now upload video to Flickr however non-pro users can upload only two videos per month.
- Flickr now catches up with Google’s YouTube by offering HD quality viewing and uploading, however only Pro members can upload.
- Yahoo introduces a truly innovative new feature called Flickr clock which aims to showcase various video clips taken at particular times throughout the day. I’m unsure as to which videos are selected to appear on the Flickr clock and exactly what time zone the clock is set to – but there’s no denying it’s a pretty fascinating visualisation.
Here’s a demo of the HD quality video with Flickr General Manager Kakul Srivastava on his way to work.

Hey man.. why so serious?? You’re fucking GM of Flickr, cheer up!! :)
Nice to have such improvements in there..

Umm… that’s Dunstan Orchard.
very exciting for Flickr to add HD content. I’m still bummed about their 90 sec and 150 MB limitation though.

Yes. Please fix this. Kakul is the guy behind him at the very end.
It’s too bad they only allow 150MB/90 second video clips, though. None of my current Photoshop tutorial vids qualify!
Sounds cool, but I’d probably be more interested if I actually did video stuff.
