Google have just announced the launch of “Google Sync” for the iPhone and Windows Mobile phones, this follows last years Calendar and Contact Sync for the Blackberry.
For both devices, Google Sync will let you sync your Gmail Contacts AND Google Calendar events to your phone - this is then done continuously over the air, in the background. What’s even more beautiful is that the sync works both ways – make changes on your phone or in your google account – you’ll have up to date info everywhere.
We’re off to test this now and will report back, but in the mean time either visit m.google.com/sync to try it out OR watch a video about the release from Google below.
(Note, if you’re a google apps user you need to have Google Sync enabled for your domain by your administrator.)

Hi!
It seems it works also on nokia S60! :)

Rgds, ZN
Can you continue to run mobileme and Google Sync together, I wonder?
I can’t wait to run this on my iPod Touch!
Yes, I’ve been waiting for this !
It doesn’t work on my HTC yet…
I’m a Google Apps user, and you’re right I had to enable Google Sync in the domain’s control panel before it would work, but I didn’t have the option until I figured out that I had to set the Control Panel option to say “Next Generation” instead of the “Current Version”
I posted instructions on this here:
