Video Demo of gOS: Google’s Operating System

We have something with German voice-overs this week. This video shows a short demonstration of gOS including how quick it starts and shuts down, how the Dock works and what applications are included. It is short and shaky but gives you a good idea of what gOS is going to look like.

More about gOS at Techcrunch, Engadget and Google’s own site.

  • That looks really awesome. Can't wait to try it out.
  • Bob Boynton
    From gOS

"gOS is not affiliated with Google or their partners."

If an operating system installs a lot of stuff from Google does that make them "Google's Operating System"?

Maybe I am being too literal in my interpretation.
  • No you are right! I really thought this was a google product. Shouldn't have happened.
  • Bob Boynton
Well, the video certainly looks like Google is it, but it has a longer history -- the Walmart version of linux was its first incarnation. Now they seem to be going for 'bigger fish.'
  • Pretty sweet. I wonder if netbook architectures would be supported and still get lightning fast performance.

    Thanks for the video.
  • Wilcox
Um, it's a joke, guys. Obviously.
