While many Twitter users are furious that President Trump is allowed on the platform even though he uses it to personally attack citizens, and lash out at the press and his opponents, CEO Jack Dorsey believes it’s “important” for The Donald to keep tweeting.

In an interview with TODAY’s Willie Geist that’s set to air on Sunday, Dorsey said:

I believe it’s really important to hear directly from our leadership. And I believe it’s really important to hold them accountable. And I believe it’s really important to have these conversations out in the open, rather than have them behind closed doors. So if we’re all to suddenly take these platforms away, where does it go? What happens? It goes in the dark. And I just don’t think that’s good for anyone.

It’s not easy to conclude whether Trump tweets are a good thing. Yes, it enables him to spread vitriol with just 140 characters, but it also sees him sharing his raw, unfiltered thoughts with the world at large, in real time. If you’ve ever wanted to know what the president of the US was thinking, you’ve never had a better channel to tune into than this.

What are your thoughts on the President’s Twitter habit? Let us know in the comments.
