The Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) is a United Kingdom financial services regulator formed as one of the successors to the Financial Services Authority (FSA). The PRA is structured as a limited company and is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Bank of England. It carries out the prudential regulation of financial firms, including banks, investment banks, building societies and insurance companies. It formally came into being on 1 April 2013.
