Whether you're managing an organization, team, or project, inclusive leadership is the key to stronger collaboration, better decisions, and a culture that works for everyone. Building inclusive leadership skills takes time and practice.
In this session, Abi Akakpo, Senior Industry Manager at Google, will be covering the foundations to inclusion & belonging and why this should matter for your organization, and how this can be accomplished at the core.
During this session, we'll cover the following topics:
- What does Inclusion & Belonging mean?
- What does it mean to lead inclusively (Self, Team, Systems)
- Why does Allyship matter?
- What actions can we implement to keep inclusivity at the core?
Speaker
Abi Akakpo is a Sr. Industry Manager at Google, based in Amsterdam Netherlands. Her background is rooted in (digital) marketing covering a number of areas, from working with media agencies in the UK & internationally, to working on the client side for Reckitt Benckiser Middle East, & previously leading integrated media planning for Uber Eats (EMEA) in the Netherlands. Abi is also the Black Google Network & Allyship jNorthern European lead at Google. Outside of the office Abi enjoys travel, reading, and socialising and is passionate about women & Africa. She is also the co-host of Headscarves and Carry-ons, a podcast about Black women living abroad (available on Spotify, iTunes and all the places you usually get podcasts).
