Financial Planning and Forecasting in Challenging Times – Workshop with KPMG Emerging Giants

Startups and scaleups are rudderless without solid financial planning, budgeting and forecasting. With high growth and - amongst other things - rapidly changing economic circumstances, unexpected developments, or maybe changes in the financing of your organization, it is even of higher importance to have solid insights into the financial situation and forecast of your organization.

Financial planning and forecasting are typical activities of the finance function, and should be a fixed part of an organization’s management information. Based on a financial forecast on results, balance sheets and KPIs, you will be able to steer your organization and measure whether you’re on track to meet your targets. If needed, these insights also enable you to take interim measures in a timely manner. Overall, this helps to increase the value of your organization, and contribute to building stronger stakeholder relationships.

During this workshop on November 23rd, Anne and Ewout will explain how organizations can improve their financial planning and forecasting, especially in challenging economic times. We’ll dive into questions such as:

• Does your organization have a good periodic insight in the financial situation?
• Is your organization able to foresee the financial effects of unexpected events on a timely manner, such as a lower revenue, higher costs, late payments of debtors?
• Is your organization able to rapidly anticipate on structural changes, such as changes in financing?
• Is your organization ever surprised by the financial situation or results?
• How can you set up a simple and robust forecast model?
