LinkedIn is planning new tools to help you connect with colleagues

LinkedIn is planning new tools to help you connect with colleagues

LinkedIn is planning new tools to make it easier for employers and employees to use the service together, reports Recode.

While LinkedIn’s the place where people go to scout for new jobs, it’s not currently where companies and current employees go to communicate. A company representative told Recode it plans to change that with two new products.

The first, which it will begin testing in the next few weeks, will enable users to send InMail – LinkedIn’s private messages – to co-workers even if they’re not connected. It’ll also encourage users to upload their contact information to a shared company database.

The other new product, which is due to enter testing by the end of this quarter, will let companies share content directly with specific groups among their employees.
