Say what you will, but living as a regular everyday normal guy will never be something that comes easily when you own the world’s third biggest website and your net worth is higher than that of an entire country – and Mark Zuckerberg is a living proof of this conundrum.
Seeking to reconnect with the regulars that made him stinking rich, the young Facebook lord announced earlier this year that he will be embarking on a new adventure that would involve him visiting all 50 states to interact with ordinary Americans as part of his New Year’s resolution.
Last week, Count Zuckerberg had a chance to scratch four states off his list, getting to see how factory workers in Michigan build cars…
… talking to recovering drug addicts in Ohio…
… milking cows in Wisconsin…
… and driving around Indiana with the mayor of the city of South Bend:
But although the initiative aimed to close the gap between the Facebook chief and the masses, it seems it has made Zuckerberg’s estrangement with normality even more apparent – and the internet was quick to take the piss out of the billionaire.
While Zuck was out gracing us plebeians with his presence, the Twitterverse was running its own competition, incessantly dishing out ridicule at Zuckerberg’s painful attempts at normalcy.
