This 360 degree 8-bit version of ‘Super Mario Bros’ is mesmerizing

Disney teamed up with researchers from a university in Zurich this week to create a 360-degree supersized eight-player version of ‘Super Mario Bros.’

Yes, it turns out Disney can make dreams come true.

The team connected eight controllers to a classic Nintendo Entertainment System and fed the video to an upscaler. The feed was then and uploaded to a computer that stitched the frames into panoramas to project onto the walls of the nightclub in real time.

Sadly, there is no word on whether the team will bring their super sized retro experience elsewhere, but we’d sure like them to. Until then, there’s always the internet.
