The intelligent learning thermostat company Nest has announced today that its product is now available in 600 Best Buy retail stores and online. The Nest thermostat had previously been available online but will now show up in a display in stores, some of which will feature a live Nest for people to play with.
The version in Best Buy stores is the updated Nest 2 model, which features a slimmer design and a wider compatibility matrix of wiring setups.
“It may seem strange for a thermostat to be sold in an electronics store, but Nest is the first thermostat that can truly be called consumer electronics,” says Nest VP of Sales and Marketing Erik Charlton. “The free Web and Mobile apps mean it can be controlled from anywhere at any time. An easy, 30 minute installation allows homeowners to buy Nest and start using it immediately.”
