If this is the Apple car, I don’t want one

If this is the Apple car, I don’t want one

Faraday Future, the mysterious electric car company, is expected to finally unveil their first car at a CES press conference later today. An app, which may accompany the vehicle, reportedly leaked earlier today, and has much of the concept car’s high points detailed.

It can reportedly hit 200 mph, and packs over 1,000 horsepower. It’s also damn ugly.

Some believe Faraday is a front for Apple’s electric car ambitions, and that may be true. If this is the Apple car, though — count me out.

Even if I could afford a high-end electric sports car, I’ve got no interest what I’m seeing from Faraday so far. I was hoping for an elegant Tesla competitor; maybe even something to challenge its incoming Model 3.

But it looks like we’re getting a futuristic take on the premium sports car. I’m still hoping this is a ruse for something more practical down the line, especially if Faraday is building something for (or with) Apple, but my outlook is much more dour now.
