Razer’s Project Valerie was so heavily hyped after its announcement in January that two of the few existing prototypes were stolen right from Razer’s CES booth. With no word on a release date or even a price, chances are you won’t be able to buy one anytime soon.
Well, it turns out you can build you own – sort of. YouTuber JerryRigEverything, mainly known for his smartphone durability tests, decided to embark on a DIY project after seeing Project Valerie, and built a working triple screen laptop, teaching you how to make your own along the way.
The screens fold in and are powered entirely by the main laptop unit, receiving data and power via USB. The hinges, meanwhile are regular old door hinges you can get from a hardware store. They are glued rather than screwed, because, well, you don’t want to screw through a laptop screen.
Yeah, it’s not exactly as sleekest triptych workstation, but it works! Go ahead and watch the full video if you want to learn how to create your own beautiful abomination a laptop.
