Yahoo News Digest, a news curation and summary app launched last month, is now available in the UK for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Yahoo News Digest provides a summary of important news — delivered twice a day, once in the morning and another time in the evening. All the top stories are summarized and presented with key information that is culled from multiple sources.

These pieces of information — called ‘Atoms’ — can be quotes, images, videos, stock tickers, maps, infographics and Wikipedia excerpts among others. The stories are both “algorithmically and hand curated,” Yahoo says.

Yahoo News Digest wasn’t rolled out to all regions when it arrived on the scene last month. It is powered by Summly, a company that was acquired by Yahoo in 2013.
