Yahoo CEO Marissa Meyer today released a blog post saying her company is in the process to acquire ad platofrm BrightRoll.

BrightRoll currently powers video advertising for 87 of the Top 100 AdAge US advertisers, including the top 15 of these. The company serves more video ads to consumers in the US than any other  platform.

The deal will make Yahoo the biggest platform for video advertisements in the US, according to Meyeer.

Meyer hopes that BrightRoll will help Yahoo reinvent its advertising platform away from traditional banner ads as it refocuses its strategy on mobile, social, native, and video content.
