WPCandy has posted up a video previewing the distraction-free editor that WordPress developers are hoping to ship with WordPress 3.2.

The interface is reminiscent of OmmWriter more than any other desktop distraction-free writing application, with bounding boxes that fade away as you begin writing. It’s not apparent from the video if the bounding boxes are resizeable as in OmmWriter.

The distraction-free editor will replace the current full-screen editor. It’s still very early in development, having only just hit the development releases of WordPress, so it’s a great time for feedback — and a great time not to rage about aspects you don’t like.
