It has been a busy past couple of months for WordPress.com, the hosted incarnation of the popular blogging service.

With infinite scrolling, a bevy of new social and linking widgets and a new Retina-ready platform recently added to its armory, WordPress.com has just announced another couple of small-but-significant updates.

If your hosted blog receives a lot of traffic, then your stats are no-doubt important to you – but the stats page was known to be a little slow to load.

However, this page now loads all your data in parallel. This means that you can access your stats “two to three times faster”, according to the company.

In addition to this, access to users’ Toolbar Notifications have been given a little speed injection, with a slew of keyboard shortcuts letting you open/close the notifications menu, approve comments and mark as ‘spam’.
