WordPress.com now lets you embed a Follow button anywhere on the Web

WordPress.com has rolled out another minor update today which provides the option to embed a Follow button anywhere on the Web.

WordPress already offered a Follow button for the toolbar and directly on WordPress-hosted blogs, but now it lets you encourage followers by placing a Follow button anywhere.

Once in place, users that click the button automatically follow the page that it’s linked to, providing they’re already logged into their WordPress.com account – if not, they’ll be prompted to do that first.

In a blog post, the company also said that it would work directly with sites like About.me:

“Since the Follow Button works for both WordPress.com and Jetpack-enabled blogs, it’s a quick and simple way to expand your audience. WordPress bloggers can display their three latest posts, along with the Follow Button, right on their About.me page, too.”
