Windows Phone devices are hitting Europe this weekend, rolling out to the world in November

Today at its event in San Francisco, Microsoft announced a number of key details for its Windows Phone 8 line of smartphones.

The first Windows Phone 8 devices will go on sale in European countries this weekend. For the rest of the world, the devices will roll out through November, depending on the carrier in question.

Here are the details:

Verizon: Will carry the HTC 8X for $199, with 16 gigabytes of storage. This will come out around Thanksgiving. Verizon will also have the Nokia Lumia 822 in stock. The carrier will also sell the Samsung Ati Oddessy, which is exclusive to the carrier.

T-Mobile: Will carry The Lumia 810 for $99, and the HTC 8X for $149, on November 14th.

AT&T: Will carry the Lumia 820, and 920. The Lumia 920 will be exclusive to the provider. The company, along with the other carriers.

These will start to go on sale in Europe this weekend, rest of the world in November. Pricing for the carrier was not announced at the event.

At the 65 Microsoft stores that will have open this holiday season, the company will sell every phone in the lineup. That and on its website, the company will have every phone, in every color, for sale.

Steve Ballmer, the company’s CEO, said in his closing remarks: “Windows Phone 8 is truly the smartphone designed around you.” That is the case. Now it’s up to consumers to decide if it’s a winning idea.
