Windows 10 Creators Update begins to rollout, but it could take you forever to get it

Windows 10 Creators Update begins to rollout, but it could take you forever to get it

Windows 10 is getting a ton of new features thanks to the Creator’s update. Today it finally begins to roll out to the general populace.

The Creators Update brings numerous useful features to the OS, including a 3D version of Paint (how far we’ve come), surround sound and Dolby Atmos virtualization through headphones, and much improved tab management in Edge. You can read about these and more in our roundup here.

Unfortunately, it might take you practically forever to get it: While the rollout begins today for “newer computers,” Microsoft says it might be “several months” until the release hits every computer running Windows 10 around the world. Thankfully, you can manually trigger an update by downloading the Update Assistant, a process which we describe here.

As one version of Windows arrives, another dies; Microsoft has just ended support for Windows Vista today as well. So, you know, hasta la vista.
