If you use WhatsApp a lot, chances are your chat list is overflowing with contacts. Now the app is making it a little easier to spot the people you most care about right away.
As first reported by Android Police, the latest WhatsApp beta builds have added a pinning feature to the chat list, which lets you stick up to three people to the top of the list, no matter when they last messaged you. That seems like a bit of an arbitrarily small limitation – I’d like to pin my all of my best friends and nuclear family.
Still, it’ll come in handy if you’re waiting on an important message or if your chat list is simply too busy to manage. Now I just wish the same feature would come to Messenger, which I use much more often.
To try it out, you’ll need to be running the latest WhatsApp beta build, though we imagine it won’t be long until it hits regular app releases. You can join the official beta channel at this link or by tapping ‘Join beta’ at the bottom of the App’s Play Store listing. Otherwise you can download the APK here.
