What is Boulder Startup Week? [Video]

What is Boulder Startup Week? [Video]

“Come visit us!” was the subject of the email that started my trip out to Boulder, Colorado. The invitation was to come out to the mountains, experience Boulder Startup Week and Ignite Boulder in order to find out what is really happening in this city.

With a population just over 100,000 people, Boulder has more entrepreneurs and startups per capita than anywhere else in the United States. What makes that happen? A big part of what I’ve found is that action begets action and so when you stick this many entrepreneurs into one place, it’s really easy for new ideas to prosper.

Ef Rodriguez is the guy who has his finger squarely on the pulse of Boulders flourishing entrepreneurial scene. In order to get his point of view, I took six minutes of his time during the opening party to see what he had to say.

I’m still in town until Sunday, hosting events and attending others. Once I’ve had time to collect my notes and thoughts, I’ll dive in and give you an overview of Boulder along the lines of what I was able to do after spending some time in Omaha, Nebraska. Suffice it to say, if you’re coming here, you’ll need to have a bike and an extra pair of lungs. Oh, and be ready to do things. This city is full of people who do, rather than those who simply think they might.
