Seems like a good idea, right? An alarm clock that will slap you awake instead of casually letting you hit snooze? A little utilitarian, sure, but on paper it seems very effective.

It is, except for when you get your hair caught in it.

Youtuber Simone Giertz built herself an alarm clock that slaps her awake, using a rotating rubber arm. It initially works as planned, but when she sits up, it goes horribly wrong.

Yelping in pain and pulling off the rubber arm, the damage is done.

Her long hair has tangled itself in the motor of the system, leaving her to figure out how to get out without severely damaging herself.

Luckily, she built the thing, so she is able to free herself after a period of time.
