The video feed taken from when the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu ‘hung out’ on Google+ is now available on YouTube.
The role technology played bringing these two hugely influential world figures is quite amazing, and the duo – and other watchers – are initially quite astonished that the link up worked as well as it did.
The hang out, which is full of laughter and joking, came about after the Dalai Lama was not granted a visa to travel to celebrate the Archbishop’s 80th birthday last week.
The Dalai Lama joined Google+ especially for the meeting with Archbishop Desmond Tutu. It will be interesting to see if the experience will see him connect with other international figures across the network, or whether the Archbishop will follow his lead and join the service.
Certainly either eventuality would help promote Google+ to new audiences, and be welcomed hugely by Google.
