Product Hunt was one of our startups of 2014 and most companies launching something new are clamouring to be featured there. But what if you’re not quite ready for the attention? That’s where Plz Don’t Hunt Me Yet badges come in.
Created by Alia Lamaadar, who works for Tapir, a startup building a customer referral tool for startups that isn’t ready for Product Hunt yet, the badges are designed to show early fans you’re excited to launch but not done tinkering.
Her theory is that by publicly announcing that you’re trying to build something Product Hunt-worthy and revealing your estimated launch date, you’ll be more likely to achieve your goal and hit it.
The idea is that once you’ve slapped a PDHMY badge on your site and set your public launch date, you submit it to Lamaadar’s List of Prey, giving Product Hunters a heads up when you’re ready for your moment in the spotlight.
