HTC’s Vive is one of the most compelling virtual reality headsets on the market. Previously if you wanted to grab some content for it, your first port of call would be the Steam store. This was thanks to HTC’s partnership with Valve.
But now there’s another place where you can get your fill of cool VR games. HTC has quietly been working on its own content marketplace, called Viveport. It’s been available in China since April, but now it’s making its way to the rest of the world, starting with 30 new countries.
HTC is marking the launch with a massive sale. During the first 48 hours of the launch, you can get theBlu, Mars Odyssey, The Music Room and Firebird – La Peri for just $1, among others. Even if you don’t own a headset, it’s worth stocking up in case you do at a later date.
Viveport Premieres will also show off some never seen before VR content that launches exclusively on the Viveport store. These include Everest VR, Google Spotlight Stories’ Pearl, Lifeliqe, Stonehenge VR, and more.
It will also introduce twelve new titles that have previously only been available in China. It’ll be pretty exciting to see how VR is used to tell stories in an entirely different culture.
The Viveport Store is open for business and you can visit it here.
