Following its Windows Phone update and the release of its first in-house iPhone app, artsy video sharing service Vimeo is landing on the Xbox 360 by way of Xbox LIVE.
Vimeo is no stranger to being viewed on your television, in fact, the service exists in various forms across the Apple TV, Boxee and Roku to Samsung TVs and Phillips Smart TVs. Unfortunately for some, this app is only available to Xbox LIVE Gold subscribers, just like Netflix, HBO GO, Hulu Plus, etc. Nevertheless, this release will put Vimeo in the hands of countless Xbox users, further extending its reach into the living room.
Shown above, Vimeo’s app certainly takes hints from the Xbox 360 dashboard. As far as functionality goes, both the traditional controller and Kinect voice and gesture controls let you search, browse and play videos. In addition, the app lets you to see the videos your Xbox LIVE friends are watching and share videos to Facebook.
