When it’s not using the awkwardly named SLOG initiative to aggressively recruit drivers from Lyft, Uber is expanding into new cities. Today it announced it has drivers in 205 cities around the globe.
The taxi-driver-with-an-app service is now available in 24 new cities including Akron, Ohio; Tallahassee, Florida; Wichita, Kansas and Wellington, New Zealand. Uber claims that in the US it now covers 55 percent of the population.
