The sharing economy brings an “Uber for” just about anything, but in this case the Uber for luxury yacht rentals is actually Uber — at least in Dubai.
Uber’s general manager Chris free told CNN:
“Following the success of UberCHOPPER in Dubai, we are thrilled to introduce UberYACHT to Dubai’s waters with this exclusive party that residents can book just as they would an Uber car or chopper, with the same level of convenience, reliability and accessibility.”
For just 300 AED ($82), you can snag an Uber ride to (and from) Marine Pier 7 in Dubai before hopping aboard a luxury yacht, complete with food, drinks and an on-board DJ.
If there’s a drawback it’s that you can’t proudly proclaim “I’m on a boat” before deciding that you should actually go get on a boat; you have to book 48 hours in advance.
