While Uber is great at raising money and angering the taxi industry and local governments, it’s not really known for acquisitions. Today that changed.
Mashable reports that Uber has acquired mapping startup deCarta for an undisclosed amount of money. The mapping platform features local search, location based features, geocoding and routing. In other words, things that Uber needs for its app for drivers and users.
Uber told Mashable that the acquisition will “make the Uber experience even better for our users.”
