Tweetmeme’s RT button has been a pinnacle of its success, and today it sees a major upgrade.
Where as before you were forced to redirect to Twitter.com to share a post, you are now able to retweet from the site you’re currently on without a redirect.
This had been possible before but were required to visit Tweetmeme itself to sign in. Now, once you’ve clicked one retweet button, a pop-up window appears, you connect Tweetmeme to Twitter via OAuth and that’s it. Every site you visit from then on, you can retweet to your hearts content without being forced to go elsewhere.
This will bring a smile to many publishers. If you were under any doubt as to how well Tweetmeme are currently doing, see our analysis here. Of course, this is in large part due to the fact that analytics tools take into account every Tweetmeme button as a part of Tweetmeme.com itself. Nevertheless, impressive.
Now try retweeting this bad boy of a post, and witness the changes yourself.
