Tumblr Tuesday on a Wednesday: Because this guy was busy texting Hillary Clinton

Tumblr Tuesday on a Wednesday: Because this guy was busy texting Hillary Clinton

Welcome to our twenty-ninth Tumblr Tuesday, where every Tuesday we celebrate our love of Tumblr by interviewing the mastermind behind a new blog. Tumblr, a New York City based startup, is like the FFFFound for the rest of the world. It’s as shareable and fast-paced as Twitter but populated with more inspiring text and rich images.

In March, we announced that Tumblr hit 20 billion blog posts and is nearing 50 million hosted blogs! But Tumblr’s founder and CEO David Karp admits that one area the blogging network hasn’t performed well enough at thus far is content discovery – which is what our weekly column Tumblr Tuesday is all about.

For this week’s Tumblr Tuesday, we’re posting the story on a Wednesday, because our main man for this interview was tied up yesterday, getting texts from The Secretary of State, Ms. Hillary Clinton. Late last night, we finally caught up with the creator of Texts From Hillary, a Tumblr that has gone completely viral over the past week. Without further adieu, check out our short interview with funny man PR Pro Stacy Lambe.

CBM: Who is the man behind Texts from Hillary Clinton?

Stacey Lambe: Adam Smith and Stacy Lambe are the two guys behind TFHC.

CBM: What was the inspiration to start this Tumblr?

Stacey Lambe: The photography taken by Diana Walker was making the round on Wednesday and we were curious about what she might be texting.

CBM: Do you do all the captions yourself?

SL: Most of the captions are ours but we were inspired by friends and tried to include submissions.

CBM: Has Hillary reached out yet?

SL: Yes, we were lucky enough to meet with her on Tuesday afternoon after her staff informed us she was quite smitten by the blog.

CBM: Have you been accused of sexism/democratism yet?

SL: I haven’t not received any criticism about the site.

CBM: How many followers have you racked up since launching the site?

SL: Twitter has over 4,000 followers, Tumblr has over 45,000 followers. Buzzfeed was tracking traffic on their post. The reception has been overwhelming.

Hope you enjoyed this! Check out all of our Tumblr Tuesdays from weeks’ past here.
