Following its move to embrace iPads and Android tablets last month, social blogging platform Tumblr has redesigned the way users create new posts.
Previously, users were taken to a new page to create a post (based on text, photos, quotes, etc), but now users never need to leave their Dashboard at all to create. Instead, a pleasant animation quickly dims your Dashboard and a new post submission form pops up.
According to Tumblr, this change is a “step toward making the Dashboard a smaller and more streamlined experience.”
Compare that newfound ease to Twitter’s experience:
Despite the fact that creating new posts on Tumblr was never actually a difficult process, it’s noteworthy that the new experience is essentially on par with Twitter in terms of speed. The change should be rolling out to all users now.
