TripAdvisor has acquired ZeTrip, the maker of Rove – a journal app which automatically logs places you visit and photos you take – for an undisclosed amount.
ZeTrip was based in San Mateo, California but all its employees have now moved to TripAdvisor’s Palo Alto office and become part of its mobile team.
There’s no indication that TripAdvisor will shut down Rove any time soon. Apps it’s previously acquired, such as Gate Guru, have continued to exist as standalone products. That’s good news, as we’ve been fans of Rove for quite some time.
