The Top Twitter Trends Of 2009 – What Did We Talk About The Most?

You know that you have to know. Twitter has just released the top trends from 2009. You can view the blog post here.

Twitter of course tracks what topics at all times are the most popular across the application. While this is useful and fun in the short term, it is even more exciting to have the data in a head to head historical context.

Now we can see, which of the biggest Twitter news subjects was the biggest (#iranelection), and that Michael Jackson is a much bigger deal than Adam Lambert.

I am of course sad to see that my #snore campaign has yet to crack any top ten lists.

What is missing from this list is #followfriday, which did not make the hashtag list, surprisingly.
