The Three data network in the UK has been suffering an outage since late Monday evening but is now starting to recover.

A Three spokesman confirmed to The Next Web that the company began hearing reports of the data-only outage late last night but that it became most apparent when the UK woke up on Tuesday morning.

“Some of our customers are unable to access the Internet. We are working to restore their data services as soon as possible.  We apologise to all those affected for any inconvenience,” the spokesman confirmed in a statement.

He also confirmed that the outage did not affect voice or SMS services for customers on the network.

Three said it had now rectified the underlying problem and would begin getting customers back online with data services in a phased release to avoid overloading the network in one go.
