I’ve thoroughly enjoyed YouTube funnymen CollegeHumor’s takes on technology: their ‘If Google Was a Guy‘ series is worth rewatching many times over, and their bit titled, ‘What It’s Like Being In A Group Text‘ totally hit home for me, and their recent one about Facebook’s algorithm was spot on.
This time, the CH crew is taking on how internet ads work – or rather, how they fail to.
Many sites insist on tracking visitors’ web activity with cookies to find out what they’re interested in, but they almost always use that data in the stupidest way possible – leading to massive wastes of marketing budgets and potential customers’ time.
No wonder people choose to use adblockers.
