This video of a choir of old Chinese people covering Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance is arguably one of the most memorable interpretations of the star’s music that we’ve ever seen.
The footage, which was broadcast to hundreds of millions through China’s top satellite channel Hunan TV, is a clear indication of Lady Gaga’s massive global appeal as even old folk in China are familiar with her music.
The performance was staged by the elderly singers as a tribute to their adult children, according to the Shanghaiist blog which goes on to explains which goes on to explains that some Gaga’s original lyrics — ‘I want your love/Love, love, love/I want your love’ — were replaced by ‘So busy/Busy, busy, busy/So busy.’
Welcome to China, where your parents will honour you with a Lady Gaga sing-a-long on live TV.
