This adorable tiny robot is insanely good at jumping

Hey friends. How’s your day been? Good? Bad? So-so? Whatever the case, this robot is about to make it a bit better.

Say hello to the Salto-1P, an adorable little robot created by a team at UC Berkely. It can jump really high:

Basically, it’s just really good at jumping. You can watch the whole video on the project here:

There’s some clever engineering behind it too. Because the robot accelerates off the ground so quickly, there’s little time for changing directions. Instead, the Salt-1P can be controlled midair thanks to a rotating inertial tail and a pair of tiny thrusters that help researchers point it the right way.
