¡Hola todos! On Wednesday the 17th of April, The Next Web (as in, me) is coming to Madrid to attend the second Wayra demoDay in the Spanish capital, and for a bunch of meetings.
Since I’m going to be in town anyway, I thought it would be fun to meet up with most of not all the movers and shakers from the local tech scene.
So, we’re going to follow up on Wayra’s demoDay with a totally free The Next Web event and party in Madrid.
We’re still hammering out the details and warming up some potential kick-ass speakers, but here’s what to expect: after the Wayra demoDay, we’ll be hosting our own event at the Telefónica building (Gran Vía 28, very central) in collaboration with Wayra and other partners.
If you don’t want to wait for speakers to be announced, be advised that you can already sign up for the event. Bear in mind that we have limited capacity (about 220 people) in the Telefónica Auditorium.
We’re pretty sure most people in the audience will have seen enough startup pitches from Wayra portfolio companies by the time we start, so instead we’re going to feature three or four great speakers, who will each be delivering a brief but memorable 15-20 minute keynote.
The TNW event will kick off around 7 PM, and after the keynote sessions we’ll go upstairs for some casual networking and drinks. Later that evening (around 9:30 PM), we’ll go to a separate venue nearby for more casual networking, maybe some tapas and more drinks.
I’m genuinely looking forward to return to Madrid and mingle with local entrepreneurs and investors, so please save the date now and cancel any evening plans you may have already made.
More details about the event to follow soon! Or just sign up now.
If you’re interested in sponsoring the event and/or party, or have any other questions, don’t hold back – email = robin@thenextweb.com.
