Google has introduced a new support account for Google+ that will respond to questions about the service.
The new account went live on Thursday, inviting users to follow Google+ Help and mention it in a post or comment in order to get help from a “team of experts”. Google already offers a Google+ support page, but it looks like the team is looking to be more active on the social network.
A proactive support account coming to the aid of users could give Google+ a small shot in the arm. While the company hasn’t had much trouble getting people to sign up for the service, getting them engaged and active on the platform has been more of a struggle. There does appear to be a need for the live support help, as users have already begun firing away with questions on Google+ Help’s first post.
Hangouts has proved to be a particularly standout feature of Google+, and it has succeeded in entering the mainstream. Google updated the product earlier on Thursday, adding a new sidebar and notifications.
Google announced last month that it had signed up 400 million users to Google+ and was seeing more than 100 million monthly active users.
