Our original report follows.
It’s going to be a big month for Tesla. According to a Tweet from Elon Musk, the company is going to hold two product launches in October.
The first is a Tesla product unveiling on October 17, which Musk said was “unexpected by most”. The second is a joint Tesla/SolarCity event, which will be held on October 28.

It’s not immediately obvious what Musk will showcase on the 17th. It could potentially be the Tesla Model 3, which is expected to be Tesla’s first affordable, mass-market electric vehicle. During this year’s Code conference, Musk suggested that there would be an event for the Model 3 toward the end of the year.
The Tesla/SolarCity event is less of a mystery. An earlier tweet from Musk himself said that the company intends to launch its new solar roof on October 28. This will come with an integrated Powerwall 2.0 battery and Tesla charger.

This is part of Musk’s “Master Plan, Part Deux“, which will see the company focus more on energy generation, transportation, and storage.
