If you’re interested in learning big ideas and challenging the way you look at the world, the TED conference is the place to do it. Since the main TED conference has become so popular, they have spun off TED to have independently organized TEDx events around the world. In Vancouver we have TEDxUBC coming up October 23rd and now the return of TEDxVancouver after a very successful 2009 event to return November 27th.
The theme for this year’s TEDxVancouver is “The Fine Line” … which could certainly be the source for a lot of great talks. Like many TEDx events, there are limited slots available and you need to apply to attend TEDxVancouver as well as you can nominate speakers for the event. Yes, if you’re wondering I did put my name forward as a speaker and as an attendee.
My topic for The Fine Line is the fine line between blogging and tech journalism. Lot’s of fodder for that talk from my years as a professional blogger and covering the Canadian tech scene. Yes, I think I would give a great TEDx talk.
If you want to learn more about TEDxVancouver, the latest post on the TEDxVancouver blog gives you a great intro to the people behind this year’s event.
You ready? What’s your fine line?
