I Need My Teacher To Learn

I Need My Teacher To Learn

Just last week Zee blogged about a professor who made a strong case for spending less time on handwriting in schools. She argued “typing in school has a democratizing effect, as did the typewriter. It levels the look of prose to allow expression of ideas, not the rendering of letters, to take center stage.”

Here is a song taking a more critical approach to teachers in general. Paper notes? No laptops in class? What is happening here? Yes, the song might be a bit cheesy but its message is a very important one:

From the Youtube description: “I Need My Teachers To Learn was Written and Performed by Kevin Honeycutt and produced by Charlie Mahoney (who also played percussion, bass, and Piano). This has gone through many incarnations, but after hooking up some good mics and recording equipment, I think we have a keeper. This recording includes background vocals from the Turning Point Learning Center Choir, which is composed of our virtual and face-2-face students.”
