Just a few hours ago, the Internet was having a collective laugh at the woman who got a tattoo of the profile pictures of 152 of her Facebook friends. Dutch newspaper The Telegraaf has crashed your party: the story is a hoax.
The tattoo artist named in the original story, Dex Moelker, told the paper that the story was a publicity stunt concocted to drive sales and that the tattoo was a transfer — the kind of fake tattoo your kids bring home in party bags and the like.
That this is just a hoax doesn’t redeem humanity. Every day that people continue naming their children Facebook or Like is another day we slip on the evolutionary scale. Planet of the Apes is looking like a realistic scenario.
