TaskRabbit brings its online task and errand marketplace to London as it begins global expansion

TaskRabbit brings its online task and errand marketplace to London as it begins global expansion

christmas-help@2xTaskRabbit is going international with its launch in London. The move had been widely expected for over a year.

At launch, the company says that 50 Taskers have been vetted, trained, and ready to begin serving the market, which was done during its beta phase. As a matter of nomenclature, TaskRabbit says that in the UK, TaskRabbits are called “Taskers” while TaskPosters are “Clients”.

Just in time for the holidays, Clients can post errands or tasks that they need handled and one of the city’s Taskers will pick it up and get it completed. It could be anything from Christmas present wrapping, assembling furniture, picking up dry cleaning, and more.

Something unique to the London community is the removal of bidding for service. Instead, Taskers will set up an hourly rate for each of the launch categories: House/Office cleaning, Handyman help, and Christmas assistance. A TaskRabbit spokesperson tells us that the company’s research indicated that these happened to be the most in-demand in London.

The move comes several weeks after the online errand-running platform expanded its service in the United States, adding Denver, Miami, Phoenix, and San Diego to its list of markets. In total, the company now operates in 19 markets just in the US.
