In case you missed the memo, the English Premier League kicks off this weekend, with some juicy signings spicing up the build up to launch. Just don’t ask Arsenal fans about it.
With this in mind, UK broadcaster TalkSport has launched a new service that will open up online radio coverage of English football to the masses around the world…except in Europe.
TalkSport, owned by UTV Radio, is one of the UK’s three terrestrial, analogue independent national radio broadcasters, serving up round-the-clock sports chatter from a studio in London.
With TalkSport Live, football fans across Asia, Africa, Australasia and the Americas won’t miss a kick of the English Premier League this season, with every minute of every match broadcast throughout the season…in English, Spanish and Mandarin.
That’s quite an impressive offering. Moreover, it will work on computers, mobiles and other connected devices via the browser (no native apps).
The service also features results, fixtures and live minute-by-minute match stats, with fans able to register their favourite team to receive match alerts when their club is playing.
It’s worth stressing that these new broadcasting rights only apply outside of Europe – in the UK specifically, TalkSport has two matches every weekend through a separate domestic deal that it has had in place for a number of years.
Of course, if you prefer to watch the action where you are, then you’ll need to find another avenue to satiate your football cravings.
