Startups: SuperConf 2012 is February 24th in Miami and $26,000 could be yours

Startups: SuperConf 2012 is February 24th in Miami and $26,000 could be yours

While the winter hasn’t been a rough one here in the US, I can’t think of anywhere better to spend a few days in February than Miami, Florida. Fortunately, thanks to SuperConf, I’ll be there February 24th and 25th. You should be too.

This is year number 2 for SuperConf, and for startups it’s time to get your submissions going. Day 1 will be a Startup Blast Off where companies can launch their products in front of the SuperConf attendees and a judging panel that includes yours truly.

I’ll be joined by 4 fantastic minds: Matt Tanase of Slicehost, Paul Singh of 500 Startups, Adam D’Augelli if True Ventures and Pedro Torres Picón of Quotidian Ventures. Together, we’ll take a look at the startups, give the advice that we have and hopefully help make a few of you famous.

The winner of the Startup Blast Off gets $10,000 in cash, plus $16,000 in credit from companies like SendGrid, Linode, KISSmetrics and more. Second place? You’ve got prizes too. $1,500 in cash, plus $2,000 in services.

Last year’s winner, Shoefitr, snagged itself media attention plus $1.2 million in funding after SuperConf. If you want your piece of the pie, you have to start with an application. I expect to be blown away by what Miami has to offer, but applicants from anywhere are accepted.

So get submitting, and keep an eye on TNW as we tell you more about SuperConf in the weeks to come.
