Startup Pack launches to give away $10k worth of tools and services to small businesses

Good news for startups. New non-profit organisation Startup Pack is launching and to start with it’s offering those who are quick off the mark, a helping hand with tools and services.

Startup Pack was established by one of the co-founders of Kicktable, Matthieu Vaxelaire. As we reported earlier this year, Springboard-backed Kicktable closed its doors in September. Not one to rest on his laurels, Vaxelaire started working on a new project to help small businesses on their way.

“I am doing this in my spare time,” says Vaxelaire. “I had this idea a while ago with friends. For me it’s a simple win/win situation. On one side, for established companies to show their support to the startup community and spread the word about their services. On the other side, for young startups to access great software for free and focus only on their core business.”

Startup Pack offers young companies a free software and services bundle to grow their business. To qualify, companies need to be incorporated less than two years ago and provide a certificate to prove it. Startups that apply must have raised no more than 250k in funding.

There are 1,000 packs available on a first-come, first-served basis and according to the organisation, each pack is worth more than $10,000.

Startup Pack offers young startups a free software and services bundle to launch and grow their businesses faster.

A selection of partners from the US and EU have been chosen to cover the needs of a growing business. So, this is the selection currently available:

Box: 12 months for free for 3 users
Mailjet: 12 months for free
TextMaster: 10,000 credits for free
Twilio: $134 for free
Engine Yard: $500 for free

So what happens when the 1,000 packs are all snapped up? According to Vaxelaire, all is not lost once this batch is done. “According to the enthusiasm of business partners we could already think about a second edition,” he says.

Best to watch this space and see what else he comes up with to encourage small businesses in the coming months.
